We began working together in 2003. Over time we realized that we both shared a strong sense of community, a healthy respect of running, and a deep love of family. We began running 5Ks and 10Ks together and in mid-2009, after running an especially enjoyable 10K, while probably still hyped up on the endorphins, we had a conversation about the joys of running and motherhood and giving back to community. As the ideas began to fly and the excitement began to build, we knew we had hit on something worthwhile. Alas, the seeds of running moms rock had been formed.
In the Spring of 2010, we held our first 5K race, which benefitted the Children's Advocacy Center for Denton County. This evening race held at The Shops at Highland Village gathered a crowd of nearly 500 runners and spectators. We are now planning our next race, scheduled for April 23, 2011.

I have always been a runner. From the Lewisville Dam Run at 10 years old to Marcus High School third place team finisher at the 5A State Cross Country Meet, to my first marathon 6 years ago...it has always been part of my life. My three kids (Riley, Emery and Grayson) and my amazing husband, Doug, inspire me to run. I run for my health, my family and my mind! As co-founder of running moms rock, my goal is to encourage others to promote a healthy lifestyle while giving back to those who need it most. Thank you for supporting us. You Rock!

From performing on my high school drill team to playing racquetball for Texas A&M to running during and after college, exercise has always been a part of my life. I love physical activity because it brings me peace of mind. To gain more knowledge, I recently got my Certified Personal Trainer certification from the Cooper Institute. My desire is to inspire my children, Diego and Isabella, as well as my wonderful husband and others around me, to make optimum health and wellness a top priority. Through running moms rock, I hope many hearts will be touched and lives will be inspired to live passionately. Thank you for visiting the site.
